^11 (A)according to the eternal purpose which He accomplished in Christ Jesus our Lord, ¹² in whom we have boldness and access ^(B)with confidence through faith in Him. ^13 (C)Therefore I ask that you do not lose heart at my tribulations for you, ^(D)which is your glory.

Appreciation of the Mystery

¹⁴ For this reason I bow my knees to the ^(E)Father ^[a]of our Lord Jesus Christ, ¹⁵ from whom the whole family in heaven and earth is named, ¹⁶ that He would grant you, ^(F)according to the riches of His glory, ^(G)to be strengthened with might through His Spirit in ^(H)the inner man, ^17 (I)that Christ may dwell in your hearts through faith; that you, ^(J)being rooted and grounded in love, ^18 (K)may be able to comprehend with all the saints ^(L)what is the width and length and depth and height— ¹⁹ to know the love of Christ which passes knowledge; that you may be filled ^(M)with all the fullness of God.

⁷ If you abide in Me, and My words ^(A)abide in you, ^(B)you^[a] will ask what you desire, and it shall be done for you.

²⁶ Likewise the Spirit also helps in our weaknesses. For ^(A)we do not know what we should pray for as we ought, but ^(B)the Spirit Himself makes intercession ^[a]for us with groanings which cannot be uttered. ²⁷ Now ^(C)He who searches the hearts knows what the mind of the Spirit is, because He makes intercession for the saints ^(D)according to the will of God.

^5 (A)If any of you lacks wisdom, ^(B)let him ask of God, who gives to all liberally and without reproach, and ^(C)it will be given to him. ^6 (D)But let him ask in faith, with no doubting, for he who doubts is like a wave of the sea driven and tossed by the wind. ⁷ For let not that man suppose that he will receive anything from the Lord; ⁸ he is ^(E)a double-minded man, unstable in all his ways.

Pray for All Men

2 Therefore I ^[a]exhort first of all that supplications, prayers, intercessions, and giving of thanks be made for all men, ^2 (A)for kings and ^(B)all who are in ^[b]authority, that we may lead a quiet and peaceable life in all godliness and ^[c]reverence.
